| LTTE stamp racket I am happy to read The Island regularly on the net. Thank you very much for taking a straightforward line on matters regarding not only the LTTE, but other issues that has significant implications for the nation. You are right that Canadian politicians are no different from those of Sri Lankan political "animals." This countrys political leaders too would go down to any level if it means a few more votes. However, Canadian politicians, just like their imperialist European progenitors, are also concerned about their image of so called "democracies" that love to criticize terrorism when it threatens their own interests. So, what is important is to pursue these matters with their representatives, ie. Diplomats in Colombo, and continue to hammer them to the point that they can no longer ignore the concerns of the government. Continue to publish several news items on this issue and request an interview, perhaps with the Canadian Diplomat. Then it will register soon in the External affairs in Ottawa. I like your paper and keep up the good work. Soma Hewa |
