Many Kenyans have a great admiration for Sri Lankan cricket and are keenly waiting to see their idols in action against Pakistan.

In recent months, Sri Lanka has registered a better record than the Pakistanis which gives them the psychological advantage in today’s important game.

Skipper Sanath Jayasuriya told the media, after Sri Lanka smashed the West indies, that the first 10 overs were a bit difficult for the bastmen. But after that it would be plain sailing.

Everyone here is waiting to see Jayasuriya in full cry with the bat today. They were all disappointed with his failure in the game against the West Indies. Another, who will be the centre of focus is Avishka Gunawardena who scored his maiden one-day century against the West Indies on Wednesday.

With all rounder Wasim Akram and off spinner Saqlain Mushtaq back in the side, Pakistan’s skipper Moin Khan is a happy man. He said he could not ask for a better team than what he has been given. "Sri Lanka has a very good batting line up and their fielding is excellent. However, we are confident of winning the game and eventually the championship", he said.

Getting through to the captain and officials of teams is a near impossibility here as there are severe restrictions on movement. The so called Liason officers of the teams are hard to find. May be they have been drowned in the sea of importance thrust upon them.
