"There’s a Kandalama in Malta!’’, exulted Aitken Spence and Company Limited, the owners of the highly acclaimed Kandalama Hotel in Dambulla.

Two of the hotel’s guests, Natalie and Joe Zahra, who spent their honeymoon at the Kandalama had been so impressed and happy during their holiday that they had named their home in Malta, ``Kandalama.’’
