Malayaham, not Malayalam

The letter of Mr. S. Thambyrajah regarding the upcountry Tamils which you had published in the Sunday Island of 19.11.2000 bears the heading "Malayalam erupts". The heading should have had Malayaham or Malayakam and not Malayalam. It might have been a printing error.

Malayalam refers to Kerala and also to its language. Malayaham or Malayakam refers to Hill Country which is what Mr. Thambyrajah had written about.
