A mini marathon to create an awareness on the protection of human rights has been jointly organised by the Sri Lanka United Nations Friendship Organisation and the International Association of Lions Clubs 306 B. The event will be worked off, on December 10 which is "UN Human Rights Day".

This is the first occasion that such an event, has been organised in connection with human rights.

Several organisations are expected to participate together with their floats, dancers and slogans.

The event will commence from opposite Kumara Maha Vidyalaya in Mahara, Kadawata at 9.00 a.m. and proceed along the Kandy Road, New Victoria Bridge to finish at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The winners will receive handsome prizes while all the participants will be given certificates. The categories concerned will be [Boys and Girls, Under 18] and [Men and Women over 18].

All prospective participants are requested to enrol themselves by December 8 at one of the following centres.
