| An open letter to Mr. Prabhakaran Dear
Mr. Prabhakaran, This means: 1. Don't steal medicine and food from the poor and suffering people of the Tamil community in the area of your control. 2. Don't steal the children of the Tamil community in the area of your control. Stop making cannon fodder of them and don't train them to kill. 3. Don't tell the world you are the leader of the whole Tamil community as long as you are not democratically elected by the community of the Tamils in Sri Lanka through at a free and fair election. 4. Don't kill any more civilians (including Tamils) through cowardly bomb attacks on buses, trains and members of the political establishment. This are acts of terrorism and not in line with the norms of International Humanitarian Law. Only then it may be, that a position of a stable foundation in a cordial atmosphere of mutual trust can be achieved. This is the way to bring about normalcy in Sri Lanka as in the Tamil settled areas as well. This way can lead to fulfill the deep aspirations of Tamils to live in dignity in a political environment where they can rule themselves. They can't rule themselves as long as you as a leader only of a militant outfit, keep them under pressure to toe your line. Many Tamils who are living abroad didn't flee the Sinhala dominated state of oppression, but the oppression of your organisation because of which they don't have a future for their children. God may bless you and show you the light of true and wisdom! |
