Twenty one soldiers, will face a High Court trial by a Special Jury, commencing July 2, in the Colombo High Court.

These soldiers are indicted in connection with the killing of 70 villagers and injuring 13 others, at Poonarin, Moilatanne on August 2, 1992.

When this case was called before, Colombo High Court Judge, Mr. Sri Skandarajah, the senior State Counsel, Mr. Suhada Gamlath, asked for a trial by a special jury. The request was granted by the court.
