| SriLankan Airlines plane makes emergency landing A Sri Lankan Airlines aircraft with about 130 people on board made an emergency landing at the Katunayake international airport on Wednesday due to engine failure but no one was hurt, airport sources said. This is the second emergency landing reported within the last one week. The airbus A-320 returned to the Katunayake airport about one hour and twenty minutes after taking off on a flight to the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka. "UL flight 151 made an emergency landing due to technical reasons. Since the right engine had a lubrication problem it was allowed to land only after dumping its fuel over the sea" the sources said A SriLankan Airlines plane had to return to Colombo just after take-off last week after its nose-wheel burst. |
