The under 13 cricket team of CCC School of Cricket will leave for Bangalore and Chennai on April 1 to play five matches on the invitation of YMCA Cricket Academy, Bangalore.

CCC school also toured India last April where their U-14 and U-16 teams participated in the Centenary Celebrations of the YMCA, Bangalore.

According to Nelson Mendis, Director of the school, the U-13 team has fared well in their friendly games, having won six matches and losing only one. The team will be skippered by Royalist U-13 player Thilina Samarasinghe, who also toured last year. His deputy will be Nalandian Sahan Pathirana, another member of the U-14 team of last year. Captain Thilina is a dependable right hand opening batsman and a good right arm leg spinner, while Sahan is a left hand top order batsman and the stumper of the side. Others expected to do well are Lakmal Senaratne a stylish one drop batsman, Thilina Pigera, a good all-rounder, Nipuna Perera, the accurate right arm pace opening bowler, Mihindu Ariyaratne, an attacking left hand batsman and a right arm leg spinner, right arm off-spinner Chamin Weerasinghe and Shaheem Mohamed, a stylish right hand opening batsman.

3/4 - vs Imtiaz Ahamed Cricket Academy, Bangalore

5/4 - vs Shashikanth Cricket Academy, Bangalore

6/4 - vs YMCA Combined XI, Bangalore

9/4 - vs St. Patrick’s College, Chennai.

The team will also visit the MRF pace foundation while in Chennai.
