Launch of Economic and Social Survey

The Economic and Social Survey of Asia and the Pacific, 2001 of the United Nations Economic Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) will be launched on April 3, in Colombo, with simultaneous launches in other major cities of the region as well as in New York and Geneva.

ESCAP Survey 2001 consists of two parts. Part One examines recent trends in the global economy and their implications for the ESCAP region while Part Two is a study of the subject of financing for development from the perspective of the Asian and Pacific region. The Survey also provides an overview of the macro-economic situation in the countries concerned.
