| Swedish national charged for molesting school boy By Neminda Samarajeewa A sixty seven year old Swedish national was remanded for allegedly attempting to molest a eight year old school boy, Hikkaduwa Police OIC, Willet Bandara told The Island, on Monday. Oslin Wen Rawen owner of a Swedish watch industry was produced to courts in April 23 and remanded till April 27 by Galle Magistrate, M.C.B.S.Moreas for allegedly molesting a boy staying at the guest house he was in. According to the Hikkaduwa OIC the Swede visited Sri Lanka twice every year. On Sunday night he had allegedly attempted to molest the boy. The boy's father hearing the boys cries had come to see what was happening. Bandara said that the father had immediately reported the incident to the Hikkaduwa police and the suspect had been taken into custody. He had been produced before the Magistrate on Monday. The Magistrate had issued a Court Order for the suspect to be remanded at the Galle Prison till Friday. The boy was admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital while the Police are awaiting the Judicial Medical Officers report. Further investigations are being carried out by the Hikkaduwa OIC, Willet Bandara, Hikkaduwa OIC Crimes, D. Manamperi and Sub Inspector, Sujeewa de Silva. |
