The Colombo Consumers' Price Index (CCPI), the official measure of inflation published published by the Census and Statistics Department, registered 2829.2 last month, reflecting an annual inflation rate of 10.3%, higher than the 9.5% recorded in March, a Central Bank press release said.

The index in April 2001, when compared with April 2000 (the point to point change) increased by 13.9%, up from 13.2% in March. The monthly change in the CCPI in April over March was 1.7%.
