Fourteen-year-old schoolboy, Ransilu Ja-yatilake, struck ‘silver’ at the Asian Power Lifting Championship held in India recently when he came second in the 100 KG weight class for juniors.

Ransilu, a student of Kingswood College Kandy, was the only medal winner (Silver) from among four other participants from Sri Lanka.

This was also Ransilu’s maiden tour abroad and the first time that he represented the country.

Chef-de-mission, Siridasa Liyanage, desc-ribed the Kingwoodian’s feat as remarkable.

The Sri Lankan team returned to the island on May 10.
