A group of parents and old boys of St. Sylvester’s College Kandy joined a demonstration on Friday (15) in front of the school calling for the removal of the school’s principal whose services were extended after retirement in early last April.

A Deputy Director of Education Central Province who made inquiries into the incident informed the demonstrating parents and old boys that the principal consented to vacate the office whenever his successor came in.

The parents and old boys gave up the demonstration after the announcement.

Two days ago the students of the school held a similar demonstration within the premises of the school calling upon the retired principal to leave office.
