Akuressa: Ten young boys are to be ordained as Samanera Bhikkus shortly at the Siriwardenaramaya, Kadduwa, Pahala Ganegama in Akuressa under Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake’s programme of ordaining 2,000 new Samaneras for the Sasana for its wellbeing.

This programme here has been arranged by the Ven. Seenipelle Ariyawansa Thera, Viharadhikari of the Siriwardenaramaya and Mr. Chaminda Kulatunga Hettiarachchi of the "Dayaka Sabha" on the instructions of the Ven. Karagoda Uyangoda Ariyagnana Nayaka Thera, chief incumbent of this vihara.

The 10 young boys entering the Sasana are from Horagoda, Egiriya, Henegama and Wellana villages and the Ministry of Buddha Sasana is providing sponsorship for this event implemented here with the co-operation of the residents of the area.
