Photographic exhibition of 2nd World War

GALLE:
"War-related photographic exhibition organized by the Galle National Youth Services Council in Association with JAIKA" was open at the Galle Town Hall recently and the Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs Richard Pathirana being the chief guest.

The exhibition was the 30th of the series and 58 photographs relating to Second World War had been provided to Galle National Youth Service Council director by the "JAICA".

Minister Pathirana said, that Japan developed fast since the second World War due to their dedication and industriousness showing an example to rest of the Asian countries.

Sri Lanka too, is in a war since 1983 and the Japanese are worried and sympathised us over the situation.

Sri Lanka has to spend in unbearable expense of Rs. 6800 million annually on the north-east war, he said.

Mrs. Kiyama Hataburo of Japan said the exhibition is scheduled to be held in Kandy and Galle but Galle was given priority.

Mayor of Galle Lionel Premasiri said, Japan has shown vast economic achievements after the war and "I saw in my visit to Japan three years before the disasters of Hiroshima and Nagasaki through pictures there".

Mrs. Manel Kulasekara, Training Directress of the National Youth Services Council also spoke.
