Former SLMC Member of Parliament M. L. A. M. Hisbullah on Monday submitted a letter to the Elections Commissioner requesting the latter to recognise him as the new leader of the SLMC.

However, the Commissioner of Elections has not replied to this request.

An official of the Elections Department said the tussle was an internal matter of the SLMC which should be resolved by court as the Elections Department has already recognised Rauf Hakeem as the SLMC leader.
