The Shanthi Foundation, Sarvodaya Movement in collaboration with the Asia Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) will open a center to collect relief aid to the drought stricken victims in Hambantota and Monaragala areas from 8.00am to 6.00pm on Sunday (2) at the Super Cross ground in Battaramulla.

The Acting Assistant Programme Manager of Hiru F.M Sudewa Hettiarachchi said that any person or company who wished to donate their drought relief could hand them over to the center or to any of the centers situated island wide. The number to be contacted is 075360360.

The ABC has consented to provide water, dry rations and other requirements to the drought stricken masses in the southern province on September 8, among the drought stricken victims in Hambantota and Monaragala areas.

Any aid provided by the general public vide its convoy of vehicles which would proceed via Galle road on the same day.
