| Visa fees to visit Lumbini reduced The Sri Lanka-Nepal Friendship Society wishes to convey their deep appreciation to President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, Prime Minister who is also Minister of Buddhasasana & Religious Affairs and the Foreign Minister for taking prompt action on the representation made by our society to request the Nepalese Government to reduce visa fees for Sri Lankan Buddhist pilgrims visiting Lumbini, states a press release of the society. The visa fees have now been reduced from US$ 30 to US$ 10 exclusively for Sri Lankan Buddhist pilgrims visiting Lumbini, acceeding to a request made by the Sri Lankan government. This is indeed a positive step taken by the Nepalese Government to further strengthen the cultural and religious ties between our two countries, the press release states. |
