Take advantage of LTTE’s partiality to the church

The whole nation will thank you and praise you for the courage in publishing the above captioned letter which appeared in your newspaper of 23rd Aug. 2001, by A. Hindu - Colombo 6. The involvement or partial attitude of the LTTE towards Christianity and Catholicism in particular is now being felt by Hindus and Buddhists in this country. What "A Hindu" in his letter has failed to mention is whether the LTTE has ever in its long history of terrorism, murder, bloodshed destroyed a Christian/ Catholic church and gunned down religious, harmless worshipers? Only attacks on Buddhist temples - Dalada Maligawa - Kovils and Mosques have been reported.

Therefore, the best location for the controversial coal-fired power plant is Norochcholai. The plant will be safe from terrorist attacks by virtue of its proximity to the church.
