fernan.jpg (13807 bytes)CR&FC ruggerite, Pavithra Fernando, who was involved in a serious motor accident on Sunday, is reported to be recovering at the Nawaloka hospital, ‘The Island’ learns.

The car in which Fernando was travelling, with three others, had collided with a vehicle belonging to the Prisons Department near the B.M.I.C.H.

It is said that Fernando and the three others were returning from a party at around 7.45 a.m. when the accident, in which the driver of the car was killed, took place.

Sources state that Fernando had been initially admitted to the Colombo National Hospital before he was transferred to the private hospital.

Efforts taken to get through to Fernando’s family members and the doctor who attended on him proved futile.

Fernando represented CR&FC as a third row forward during the recently concluded Inter-club League Rugby Tournament.

He also turned out for Royal College from 1996 to 1999. (Ravi)
