| Next generation MP3 players LG Electronics, Korea has successfully developed three types of next generation MP3 players and will introduce them to the international markets this months, says a press release. The new products support USB (universal serial bus) connection for easy download of MP3 files from PCs and can use both a conventional memory card, MMC (multi media card) and an SD card as well, as a built-in memory card. In particular, the MF-PE500 model can convert conventional audio CD and other music sources into MP3 files without a PC connection. It can convert a variety of audio sources into MP3 files. New file formats such as WMA (windows media audio) offer a much better sound quality than CDs and have about a 30% better compression rate than MP3 files so that more data can be stored in infinite memory. The MF-PD355 model comes with a blue backlighting LCD, displaying title and artists name and has a continuous playtime of 10 hours with a built-in recording function. To ensure user convenience, it also comes with a jog-di al. The MF-PD355 model has a compact size for carrying, and can operate skip to previous/next song, repetitive playback, random playback, and bookmark easily. Its enhanced X-live sound system delivers high quality surround sound.
