Kandy Cricket Club, led by D. Kol-ugala beat Police S.C. on the first innings in their Sara Trophy Segment "B" Inter- Club cricket match, played at the Campus grounds.

Police were 70 for 4 in 37 overs at the end of the first day, which was hit by bad weather. Continuing from the overnight score, the Policemen were bundled out for 120 runs. I. Dar-mawardene (35), and A. Basnayake (33) were the top scores. Once again, it was A. S. Danage and Piyal Wijetunga who did the damage with the ball, pocketing five and four wickets, respectively.

Kandy CC, in reply made 151 for 9. Skipper D. Kolugala made a quick 35 with two hits to the ropes and two over it. D. Gunawardne and R. Jinan took 4 and 3 wickets. Police, in their second innings, were 0/1.
