Karunasena ‘glitters’ in Bandaranaike’s win

Bandaranaike College, Gampaha, recorded a resounding victory over President’s College, Veyangoda by an innings and 309 runs, in a Division IV Under-13 Schools Cricket Tournament match, played recently, at Ranpokunugama grounds.

President’s College were dismissed for 51 in 10 overs in their first innings. In the second innings, they were bundled out for 47 in 12 overs. Bandaranaike, in their first innings went on the rampage, scoring 407 for 4 in 60 overs, with Buddhika Karunasena top scoring with 155, followed by Dhanuska Adikari (122) and Kaniska Warnpushpa, 63. Buddhika also excelled with the ball, claim 3 for 10 in the first innings and 5 for 7 in the second innings.

Bandaranaike’s Gihan Madushanka took 3 for 7 and Kaniska Wanapushpa 5 for 6.

In another Division II match against Mahabodhi College, Bandaranaike won by 147 runs. Mahabodhi were all out for 120 in 45 overs as against Bandaranaike’s 265 all out in 68 overs.
