by Mike Andree
Sri Lanka’s ruggerites have been hard at practice for the opening ‘World Series’ Rugby ‘Sevens to be staged in Durban, South Africa, this month. However, it is likely that they may not make the trip.

According to news reaching us, a rumour that terrorist leader Osama bin Laden was spotted in Dubai has caused some teams to pull out of the Durban tournament. A total of 24 teams were to contest but with the withdrawals, the South African Rugby Union has decided to restrict the number of teams to 16. This may see Sri Lanka being left out a top official in the SLRFU told ‘The Island’.

The Sri Lanka team is due to travel to Dubai for the Emirates Rugby ‘Sevens’ to be staged on November 11 and 12. From there they were to move over to Durban.
