Asian Paints Chairman visits Sri Lanka

Ashwin Choksi, the global head of Asian Paints, the India-based multinational, was in Sri Lanka last week on a brief visit, during which he inspected the company’s production facility in Moratuwa.

Asian Paints entered the Sri Lankan market with the acquisition of a 76 percent stake in Delmege Paints and renamed its Sri Lankan operation Asian Paints (Lanka) Ltd., over one year ago.

The company has grown into a major player in the local market, and has launched its internationally marketed brands such as Autocare and Apcolite in the local market.

Established in 1942, Asian Paints is the second most profitable paint company in the world. In size, the company is ranked among the top 15 decorative paints manufacturers in the world.
