"The honesty and the impartiality of senior police officers serving in police stations in Hambantota District are questionable, as such they should be transferred out immediately, Jalani Premadasa, wife of Hambantota district former UNP MP, Sajith Premadasa said to "The Island" yesterday.

She further alleged that a People’s Alliance politician in the area had summoned police officers in the area and asked them to support the Peoples Alliance. She claimed some supporters of this politician were carrying out a propaganda that the incident of shooting at her residence was her own imagination. The true situation of the incident can be proved with the bullet marks of this shooting, Mrs. Premadasa said.

Jalani Premadasa further said certain bullets used in the shooting at her house had fallen into the army camp at Weerawila.

If anybody says that it is a figment of my imagination it is the biggest joke, she noted.

"The police investigations into the shooting at our house is at a standstill. A police constable arrived and recorded statements from two or three persons. Is this a police investigations?" she asked.

"After this incident the police checkpoint close to our house was moved farther away", she claimed.

"Who says there is no election violence?" she asked adding that even people walking on the road were being assaulted.
