We understand that several Tamil parties contesting the elections have been instructed by the LTTE to toe the s-called Eelam line. As they advocate separatism, they must not be allowed to contest elections.

If the government allows them to contest it will mean the government is protracting the war further, which is said to have killed 60,000 persons. Only parties promoting a settlement and a unitary Sri Lanka should be allowed to contest.
