| Weightage on 91 day bills The weekly treasury bill auction held on Wednesday was heavily oversubscribed with bids amounting to Rs 6,765 million being received, a central bank press release said. However, the value of the total amount of bills on offer at this auction was Rs 2,223 million, which was also the total amount that was ultimately sold. Meanwhile, the weighted average yield rates (WAYR) for 91 day bills decreased by 0.02% (two basis points) when compared with the previous auction held last week, for 182 day bills by 0.05% (five basis points) and for 364 day bills by 0.12% (12 basis points). Bills, of a 91 day maturity period offered at this auction totalled Rs 1,100 million, while the total amount of bids received for this parcel amounted to Rs 3,966 million and the amount finally accepted, Rs 1,316 million. The total value of bills of a 182 day maturity period that was on offer amounted to Rs 100 million and the value of the bids received, Rs 330 million, while the amount finally accepted, Rs 130 million. Bills of a 364 day maturity period that was on offer amounted to Rs 1,023 million, bids received, Rs 2,469 million and the amount accepted, Rs 777 million. |
