| Airman Gamage impresses in Sara Trophy cricket Airman Chamila Gamage (22) was adjudged man of the series in the recently concluded Segement B Sara trophy cricket tournament. The right arm medium paceman bowled with great success for the Airforce team. Gamage, a Richmondite, started his cricket at the age of 13 and was a regular member of the schools U/15, U/17 and U/19 teams. After leaving school he joined the Airforce and continued with his cricket. Gamage was adjudged man of the tourney in the under 23 cricket tournament of 1999. This year Gamage took a hat trick against Roddolougama SC in the under 23 tournament. During the Sara trophy tourney last year he took 42 wickets with best figures of 9 for 94 against Navy. He also took 7 for 96 against Singhe SC. He is also an useful middle order batsman. Gamage has also figured in the Premier League tourney this season and only two matches. So far he has taken 15 wickets including a match bag of 9 for 80 against Sebastianites. |
