An auditorium for ISB

The newly constructed Auditorium of Industrial Services Bureau (ISB) was jointly opened by the chief minister of the North Western Province (NWP) S. B. Nawinne, the German ambassador in Sri Lanka Juergen Elias and the resident representative of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) of Germany Dr Marlies Salazar, says a press release. It was named after as "Konard Adenauer", who was the founder chancellor of the Republic of Germany.

Before the beginning of the meeting, the presentation of documentary on Wayamba, ranging from industrial and rural development to agriculture took place. This gave an insight as to the vision of ISB; "To be the most efficient, effective and recognized service organization in Sri Lanka in the field of industrial development and services". In his speech, Gamini Senanayake, director, ISB said that this was a long felt need of the ISB and the business community in and around Kurunegala. The auditorium is equipped with modern conference facilities. It could comfortably accommodate around 100 participants at a time.

Elias in his address expressed his satisfaction at the slow and steady progress made by the ISB and its contribution towards the industrial and economic development of the Wayamba. He congratulated the director and staff of the productive work done since the inception of the ISB and assured of his assistance when the need arises. Mrs. Salazar speaking on the occasion said the auditorium is the only one of its kind in Asia named after Konrad Adenauer. She commended the achievements registered by the ISB towards industrial and economic development in the Wayamba. She was glad to note that small, medium and large scale industrialists have benefited from their services over the decade, its service covering the entire Island and ‘reach beyond Sri Lanka’.
