One person was killed and thirteen others injured when bombs were hurled at a musical show organised by the People’s Alliance on Sunday night at Wariyapola, police said.

The injured have been admitted to the Kurunegala hospital.

Three supporters of the UNP had been arrested in this connection, police sources said.

Meanwhile in a shooting incident by the security officers of Kandy district UNP candidate, Lukshman Kiriella at Dangolla, Kandy 21 supporters of the PA were injured and admitted to Kandy hospital.

When contacted Lukshman Kiriella regarding this shooting incident he said that about 300 PA supporters had come to attack his house at Dangolla and therefore the security officers opened fire.

Kandy police is conducting investigations into this shooting incident.
