On these days when the cost of living has risen to dizzy heights and the people are struggling to keep the wolf away from the door, certain unscrupulous manufacturers, traders and mechanics are trying to make a fast buck by cheating customers with various tricks of the trade.

In desperation, they (the customers) report these rogues to the Commissioner of Internal Trade (Customer Redressal Section) to find that worthy sleeping.

In spite the requirement that letters be acknowledged within three days, no amount of reminders would wake up this official, and consequently the culprits are having a field day.

What is worse, when the aggrieved customers appeal finally to the Ministry of Internal and International Trade and Commerce, they do not receive even an acknowledgment.

As the government is blamed by the people for not taking any disciplinary action against such lethargy and indifference, may I suggest that with regard to the Department and the Ministry of Internal and International Trade and Commerce, a high powered Committee be appointed to investigate this sad state of affairs and take remedial action.
