Former Minister and leader of the LSSP Batty Weerakoon has complained to the Court of Appeal against the People’s Alliance for not nominating a member of the LSSP to their national list.

The petitioner had said there is an agreement between other constituent parties of the PA and the LSSP to nominate one of their MPs to the PA national list. The petition has requested the Court of Appeal to direct the Elections Commissioner not to accept the national list MPs submitted by the PA.

The petition also requests the Court of Appeal to direct PA General Secretary D. M. Jayaratne to nominate an MP from the LSSP.
