| Sidelining Alavi Moulana another big PA blunder The PA is quite adamant in making more and more blunders. Mr Alavi Mowlana whose name was on the national list has been omitted at the last minute, in other words he was dumped. I am an ardent UNP supporter but the thing that struck me most about Mr Alavi Mowlana is his strong loyalty to his party and especially to former Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike. As an UNP supporter I feel strongly that Alavi Mowlana is being given a raw deal and I am sure other PA supporters would feel worse than me. In the past he had been assaulted several times, and also he was offered key positions in the UNP but he declined saying he is not a turncoat or an opportunist. President Kumaratunga should think deeply and reconsider her decision because the PA has plenty of opportunists and turncoats who would gladly sell or destroy her for their own gains as she has learned the hard way. If President Kumaratunga keeps on sidelining her loyalists then ultimately she will be
left with only traitors, who for money or position would not hesitate to join her
opponents to get her impeached. |
