KANDY — Five army personnel including a Lieutenant surrended to Teldeniya Magistrate C. V. Rajapakse yesterday (17) in connection with the shooting of 10 Muslim youths of Madawala at Palletalewinna on the day of the general election.

The five suspects were remanded till December 26 by Mr. Rajapakse.

The suspects were Lt. W. M. R. B. Wijeratne, soldiers P. M. Anura Kumara, B. M. D. S. Dissanayake, Sgt. Kamal Wijeratne and Corporal H. M. Sunil Chandrasiri.

The suspects were surrendered by Attorney Ashley Herath.
