| CCC to participate in Bangalore summit The confederation of Indian Industrys (CIIs) flagship International event the Partnership Summit is scheduled to be held from January 5-11 in the Silicon Valley of India the City of Bangalore. The Partnership Summit, the eighth in its series of such summits, promises to be an "outstanding policy briefing and interaction on business strategy, competition, trade, technology and the management of people. It is expected to create a high-level business forum for developing real, strategic business alliances across functional areas business, economic and social. It will create a unique forum for networking with world Statesmen and business leaders on one platform". The Partnership Summit has regularly featured heads of state and government ministers and senior bureaucrats from India and abroad. The prime minister of India, Singapore, Canada, UK and Italy and the presidents of India and Poland have addressed the partnership summit since 1995. Partnership summit 2002 will be inaugurated by the prime minister of UK, Tony Blair and will be attended by almost 800 decision makers from India and overseas. The summit has traditionally evoked a great response from government and business delegations from a number of countries/regions. The chambers delegation will be led by Mano Selvanathan who is the Co-chairman of the joint economic council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and the CII and will include Chandra Jayaratne, chairman of the CCC, Tilak de Zoysa vice chairman of the CCC. Ayoni Waniganayake, senior assistant secretary general, Vivendra Lintotawela, chairman JKH, Susantha Ratnayake, director JKH, Suraj Fernando, joint managing director Carmart Ltd, Arjuna Mahendra, chairman of the BOI, Shehara de Silva, deputy director general promotions of the BOI, C. Ignatius of the BOI, Senthil Gopinath, deputy general manager/CO of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, Ranjit Fernando, Secretary to the Ministry of Enterprise Development, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion is also expected to participate in the delegation. The CCC delegation will participate at a special session on Sri Lanka at the
partnership Summit on January 8, which would mainly focus on the promotion of the FTA. The
joint economic council of the CCC and the CII will also meet in Bangalore on the same day.
