The United States Embassy announced today that the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor, Mr. Michael Parmly will arrive in Colombo for a two-day visit.

During his brief visit, Mr. Parmly will call on Sri Lanka government officials and private organizations as well as consult with Embassy officials.

Mr. Parmly has been Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor since April, 2000. This is his first official visit to Sri Lanka.
