by Hafiz Marikar in Kandy

Trinity College Kandy escaped defeat against hometown rivals Dharmaraja, when they held on grimly till the end in their inter-school cricket fixture which concluded at the Police Ground matting wicket, on Wednesday.

Dharmaraja, who went down to Royal a few days ago, gave a superb display of cricket and dictated terms to the Trinitians.

Rajans scored 325 runs for the loss of 9 wickets and the Trinitians, bowled out for 124 in the first innings and forced to follow-on, were struggling at 147 for 8 at close.
