It is reliably learnt that UNP stalwart Daya Pelpola will be appointed as SriLankan Airlines chairman and Forbes & Walker managing director Chrysantha Perera, chairman, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation.

CWC politico S. Sellasamy is to be appointed as chairman of the National Amenities Board and A. Candappah, chairman, Housing Development Finance Corporation.

It is strongly speculated that Victor Ivan is tipped to be the new chairman of the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd. and veteran broadcaster Dr. Vijaya Corea, chairman, Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation.

Other possible appointments are former Aitken Spence chairman Ratna Sivaratnam, being tipped to be appointed as the chairman of the Export Development Board, Glaxo SmithKline Beecham director Dinesh Weerakkody, chairman, Employees’ Trust Fund Board, Ananda Athukorala, People’s Bank chairman and businessman and former Cricket Board president Ana Punchihewa, chairman State Trading Corporation.
