| Manu Roo Asiri at the Art Gallery
A self made artist Prashan has painted nearly a thousand portraits of eminent personalities including politicians, singers, film stars and many other well known figures. Born to a family of three, Prashan loves music, sculpture and architecture. He has won a number of art competitions held in the country during his school career at Thakshila Central College, Horana. In 1992 he won the all island art competition of young people sponsored by the Sri Lanka Educational and Cultural Foundation. His latest exhibition Manu Roo Asiri focuses on Sigiriya. He spent two and a half years visiting the Sigiriya rock to ascertain for himself the life and times of Kashyapa King and did extensive research on the frescoes for his paintings. Organised by the Yovun Chitrakala Kendraya, Exhibition will be open by Dr. Arthur C. Clarke and Lester James Peiris. |
