Inter-Ministerial Task Force meets

The Inter-Ministerial Task Force for International Economic Co-operation chaired by Foreign Minister Tyronne Fernando met in Parliament last week. Minister of Plantation Industries Lakshman Kiriella, Minister of Commerce & Consumer Affairs Ravi Karunanayake, Minister of Employment & Labour Mahinda Samarasinghe and officials of the EDB, BOI, Tourist Board also participated.

Minister Fernando said that our missions abroad would be geared to serve the nation’s needs of foreign investment, tourism, exports etc., and they could facilitate the activities of the ministries concerned.

The Minister Assisting Foreign Affairs Mr. Lal Gamage would meet on a weekly basis with the "focal points" of these institutions.

The private sector too would be brought to the action plan for the 100 days, the minister added.
