| An exclusive kid zone for children
With the inaugural opening of an exclusive kid zone for children, another chapter in the rapidly growing Keells Hotel industry has begun . This has been another remarkable addition and has confirmed the contribution made by Keells to make their hotel industry a family oriented one. Organised by the club Intersport, a subsidiary of the Keells Hotel this is an exclusive club with a membership open to all children from the age of 4 to 12 years. At the inaugural opening of this club at Bentota Beach Hotel there were about 200 to 300 children with their parents who received their membership by filling a form. The membership card has a photograph of themselves, and a club pack consisting of a keyring, and some colourful stickers. Some of the great benefits on becoming a member, are the children are entitled to free stays at any Keells Hotel, great gifts on each stay at any Keells Hotel, invitations to educational events and parties, free birthday cake at any Keells Hotel, qualify for great competition and a chance to win super prizes, special childrens video will be screened whenever the kids stay at Keells Hotel. In addition the kids will have their own E-mail address after just four stays at any Keells Hotel. At the first day of the opening of the club at Bentota Beach, the children had fun. They were treated to a sumptuous buffet, had a boat ride and many competitions with attractive prizes. Kids got their faces painted in colourful designs, elephant rides were some of the highlights. According to acting General Manager of Bentota Beach Hotel Kenneth Jayasinghe, this novel concept for the kids will cut across all Keells Hotels, where they will be entertained with lots of fun and frolic. In addition educational tours for kids will also be encouraged. At the Lodge and Village at Habarana, bird watching with an expert will be encouraged Encouragement will be on different themes that would promise their interests. Parents will not be left alone, for example there will be a cookery demonstration for the parents while the children are entertained. All in all, the Keells Hotels wanted to make their hotel industry a family oriented affair. We want the kids and the family to enjoy together, said Kenneth Jayasinghe. |
