I am herewith writing to bring to the notice of the concerned authorities regarding the above subject. Being a daily commuter of the High level Road, I regret to say that a pathetic block exists daily during morning and evening rush hours including Saturdays and some days during Sundays too. However this block is not restricted only to rush hours either. Compared to the Nugegoda Junction or other major junctions on the Highlevel Road, a relatively dense block occurs at this junction.

When analysing the road and infrastructure layout we can see that Maharagama being a heavily populated area however does not consist of a bus stand for commuters or buses. Buses that ply on the main road from Colombo to Kottawa, Homagama etc. have to stop on the main road itself thus blocking the entire road in some instances. Owing to the vast number of buses plying on this route, several buses are parked on the main road at all times of the day.

The major reason for this situation is the lack of a Bus Stand for the buses to park and stop while loading passengers etc. A block of land exists near the Bo tree at the Junction and I request the authorities to look into the possibility of utilizing the same for a fully equipped Bus Terminal.

I sincerely hope that some action or remedy is taken in this regard.
