CEB, give us generators!

The looming power crisis has caused much hardships and sufferings to the people. If no alternative measures are adopted immediately to restore the power supply, the situation is sure to further deteriorate.

School children are having a tough time attending to their homework. Housewives are in a quandary as to how they are going to store their left-overs and women, in general, dread to tread in the darkness for fear of snatch thieves. As the lights go off, the deadly mosquitos commence their serenade, "Making life a veritable hell on earth," whilst some enjoy the comfort of generators.

These are some of the grave problems the people face due to the sins of others. The tax-payers are not to be blamed. They cannot afford to bear the brunt. They have always been prompt in the settlement of their bills (the slightest delay will result in the disconnection of supply).

The Ceylon Electricity Board, should therefore seriously consider the possibility of supplying a generator to each and every household as a service and gesture of goodwill towards the suffering masses, so that it would bring much comfort and relief to them.
