The ‘Cosmo Tournament 2002’, an annual open ranking tournament, will be held at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association Courts in Greenpath from February 23 to March 3.

The tournament is conduct by the Dehiwala and Mount Lavinia Cosmopolitan Sports Club under the guidance of the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA).

Irshad Othman Tournament Secretary told ‘The Island’ that this competition will offer the local players a ‘Warm Up’ before their participation at a major international tournament.

This tournament will be conducted in Sri Lanka in early March.

He further said that the organisers are expecting a lot of entries for this competition, especialy in the junior catergories.

This year the events which will be worked out are the Open Men’s Singles and Doubles, Women’s Singles and Doubles, Boys Junior and Senior, Singles and Doubles and Girls Junior and Senior, Singles and Doubles.

Entry forms for this tournament are available at the SLTA and Club premises. Entries for the tournament will close on February 20.

The draw for the tournament will take place at the Club premises on February 20.
