The annual Inter-house sports meet of the Galboda, Aturuwella MV, Induruwa was held on February 14, 2002 at the schools playground. Gamunu house emerged victorious beating Tissa and Wijeya houses.

The MP for the area (Bentara, Elpitiya), Gayantha Karunatillake participated as the chief guest and promised to grant the immediate needs of the school suggested by the principal, in the near future.

Rev. Weihene Pannakitti Thero General Secretary Bentota Sasana Arakashaka Mandalaya and the Chief Incumbent Bodhimalu Raja Maha Vihara, Pohoramabawe Ananda Thero, Chief Incumbent Dharma Sri Wardhanaramaya, Induruwa and Gammaddagoda Soratha Thero of the tutorial staff of the school, Jayasiri Nanayakkara, Provincial Councillor, L. L. Piyasena, Divisional Director of Education, Bentota and Ruvantha Samaranayaka, Chairman Ruvantha Group were also present.

The principal of the MV. Gamini Shantha Hevamanna welcomed the participants.

This is the school where former Minister of Education and Higher Education Richard Pathirana was principal.
