CR down Old Zahirians

CR&FC clinched the Western Province Under 24 Rugby sevens tournament when they downed Old Zahirians SC by 38 points to 12 in the Cup final match, played at Longden Place, on Sunday.

The red shirts led 14 - 5 at the short whistle of referee Aruna Jayasekara.

For CR&FC N.B. Ekanayake, Ramesh Gunaratne, M.J. Mustaq, Roshan Peiris and Nishantha Kumara scored one try, while Peiris and C.S. Jayasinghe converted two tries each.

M. Faumy and M. Shareen scored a try apiece for Old Zahirians SC while M. Malik converted Shareen’s try.

Meanwhile, in the Plate final Police Sports Club beat Navy by 26 points to 15. In the Shield finals CH&FC defeated Tristar SC by 26 points to 7.
