LTTE clamps obligatory service

The LTTE has informed all vehicle owners in the Ampara-Batticaloa area that they should make available their vehicles for the organisation at least twice a month, a highly placed security source said.

The LTTE has announced that if vehicle owners failed to release their vehicles on days chosen by the organisation, their vehicles would be seized, the source said. The LTTE has started issuing special cards to vehicle owners in the east, the source said.
