| SLIM expands to meet demand The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing in its endeavour to break restriction that prevented the expansion of marketing education has extended its classrooms by adding another floor to the SLIM Business School. SLIM Business School (SBS) situated at Lakshmans Building, Colpetty, has been providing education to over one thousand students every year. Each year, many students have been disappointed because SLIM has not been able to accommodate them. It is expected that the new expansion will help to take on a much larger student population into its fold, thus giving the nation a larger number of qualified marketers. SBS provides coaching for all qualifications offered by the SLIM namely, the Preliminary Certificate in Marketing, Diploma in Marketing, Certific ate in Professional Selling and the Preliminary Certificate in Business English. SBS is an accredited coaching center for the Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma examination as well as the "Certified Professional Marketer status" offered by the Asia Pacific Marketing Federation. The new floor was opened by Taslim Rahaman - president, Nalin Attygalle - immediate past president, G. S. Sylvester- Secretary, and V. S. Srikantha - Treasurer. Nimal Wirasekara - executive director and Tishanga Kumarasinghe - assistant general manager were also present at the occasion. (Press release) |
